Lacy lost more than just her fiancé when he committed suicide: she also lost her muse. As a singer-songwriter, it is imperative that she be ble to write songs. But since the death of the man she was going to marry, Lacy's songwriting is running on empty. She just can't.It used to be that support groups were held in church basements or community centers. Lacy goes online, where she is a member of a group called SoWriAn (Song Writers Anonymous), where, as LoveCoda, she has struck up a particular friendship with someone called FolxNotDead27. The difference between face-to-face conversations and those online is that you find yourself telling these nameless, faceless people more under the cover of anonymity than you would if they were sitting in front of you. Lacy experiences that with FolxNotDead27. She reveals herself to him, and he to her. She can feel an attraction, and she's pretty sure he can, as well, but what do you do? She lives in Boston, and FolxNotDead27 could be anywhere.
It turns out that he isn't that far away. Eli is a guitarist in a folk rock band called Blue Hills, and he is besotted with LoveCoda. Eli, too, is strugging. His loss is different, though; in fact, it hasn't happened yet, but he fears it will. He loves performing and he loves Blue Hills, but the meaningful moments in his life are becoming increasingly focused on his online chats with LoveCoda. And he imagines what it would be like if they met in real life.
Shades of The Shop Around the Corner and You've Got Mail permeate this story. Lacy gets hired to open for Eli's band, and you watch as they fight their physical attraction to each other, feeling as if they are cheating on their online selves. Only neither knows that the other is the very person they've been fantasizing about. Laurelin McGee (a partnership between Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee) keeps the tension and suspense going. Will Eli figure out that Lacy is LoveCoda? Will she figure out he's FolxNotDead27?
There is also the question of whether their online relationship will translate into a physical relationship of equal power and resonance. They are so close, operating on computers, but what about when they meet? Will they be what they hoped each other would be? Will their emotional and spiritual connection be as strong? I liked how Laurelin McGee approached this. You feel as if you can be certain that when Eli and Lacy meet in person, their feelings will only grow in intensity, but yet you also know the vagaries of the online world. Maybe Eli and Lacy together in the real world will be a bust, something not nearly as powerful as in the virtual world.
McGee also teases you with the sexy times. We all know that Eli and Lacy will rock the headboard, but when will it happen? I'll tell you this much, gentle readers: the sex scenes are AWESOME. Of course, if you read Miss Match, in which you met Lacy as Andie's sister, then you know just how glorious Laurelin McGee writes the sex. Your thighs will clench so tightly that you could cut off circulation.
There are bittersweet moments (I cried more than once), and there are hilarious moments. This is a sweet, adorable love story with some roaring hot headboard rocking. The pacing slips a little in the latter part, which feels like a minor quibble in the face of so much fun and hotness. I didn't connect with Lacy as strongy as with Andie, but Eli is perfection.
Laurelin McGee knows how to hit all the buttons: laughter, tears, and arousal.

Love Struck Laurelin Paige Kayti McGee Laurelin McGee 9781250059192 Books Reviews
Received an ARC on Netgalley for my Honest review. Posting for Author Liaisons...
Laurelin McGee has another hit on their hands! I love their writing style. I was a little skeptical when I realized it was Lacy's story (she wasn't my fav character in Miss Match) But I ended up loving her and Eli's story.
Eli was an adorably hot musician who basically "gave" everything he had to everyone else. The book was amazing and the characters fit. The secondary characters were funny and I hope Jax gets his own book!
Lacy thinking she is getting married to Lance and going to have the happy ever after, until they aren't! Memories are hard, she is fighting to get her muse back, unable to write songs, (connects/talks with a person a internet writing site, has to be anonymous- he is trying to help her get past her writing block.) on a deadline, then an amazing offer to headline for an amazing group, for a short time. Can things turn around, she is attracted or feels something toward one of the group she headlines for, connects with Eli, where will things go for her. Can she get her inspiration back, will she love again, this is a great romantic, interesting, heartfelt story, amazing, loved it, didn't want it to end.❤️
A well written, sweet, sometimes funny, intelligent romance that deals with all the foibles of human nature - depression, anxiety, insecurity, love, friendship, family, death, and does so in a way that leaves you full of hope for the characters, even the one slightly unlikable one. It never bogs you down with sadness, and never leaves you frustrated with the characters, but rather leave you cheering them on to overcome the manner in which they tend to get in their own way. Can't wait to read more from this duo.
There were so many things about Love Struck that made this book such a fabulous read. It was sweet, sexy and the feels. Gahhh!! I loved the Lacy and Eli as a couple. I also found it very intriguing how they had a dual romance…not only in person but also their budding online sort of interest, that started prior to them actually meeting.
We first met Lacy, a musician and songwriter, who is the sister of Alex in Miss Match. Lacy world has been turned upside down with the suicide of her fiancé. Sad, alone and dealing with writers block she is struggling. Turning to an online support group for others like her. Using the name LoveCoda, has struck up a friendship with FolxNotDead27. Their talk is free and easy and as time goes by they begin to connect. In fact the connection leads to the decision that they might actually have feelings for each other and want to meet. So much so that they plan a date, time and place!
Eli is the lead guitar for the band, Blue Hills. He and Jax, his best friend, started Blue Hills together and have seen it come grow into a popular group. Eli has always written songs for the group but of late is totally frustrated with Jax. Jax is taking his work and changing it to suit his own style. Frustrated by this Eli find solace in the same support group as Lacy…going by FolxNotDead27. He and LoveCoda have this mutual attraction thing going on. One of the things he most looks forward to is the time spent talking with LoveCoda online.
Then the chance of a lifetime happens for Lacy. She is asked to be the opening act and tour with the band, Blue Hills. Both excited and scarred, she accepts and now the pressure to preform really kicks in. Would Lacy be able to come up with the new songs needed to further her career?
Eli and Lacy quickly fall into a comfortable and friendly pattern. The banter between them is sweet and gets pretty darn hot. They are the yin to each other’s yang. The more time they spend together the harder it becomes to control those feelings. AND then, BAM, it happens. Their undeniable chemistry is suddenly out of control and hot damn if the sex isn’t off the charts. Now that Lacy and Eli had this torrid physical relationship going where does that leave the online thing? What would happen to Love Coda and FolxNotDead27? Would Lacy and Eli realizing they already knew each other from their online support group?
Love Struck was a fun read and had just the right amount of angst, lust and sex to make it hot. There is also just the right amount of twist and unforeseen turns from Lacy to make you go WTF?? Plenty of laughs thanks to Alex and her flamboyant wedding planner. I certainly cannot wait for the next collaboration of Lauelin Paige and Kayti McGee because I know IT WILL BE HOT!!!
